A Note From Dare To Read

The Marmora Community Library opened its doors to the the Dare to READ program one year ago today!

Dare to READ is a program directed at any community member who is interested in learning to read or better their reading ability. Volunteer run, it began November 1, 2022.

It's unbelievable to think that a year ago within the walls of the community's library the first Dare to READ student met the first Dare to READ instructor.

A year later the growth of this program has been truly amazing. Today on November 1, 2023, the Dare to READ program houses ten students along with five Volunteer Instructors; such a feat within this small community!

Sharing the magic of reading could not happen without the amazing support of our five Volunteer Reading Instructors!

These individuals are appreciated greatly as they give their time, their efforts and their expertise to students who are interested in bettering their reading skills. When you have such a dynamic it equals the best equation for success!

These volunteers cannot be thanked enough for what they do. Thank you Grant, Gail, Martha, Cindy, Judy and Mary-Elizabeth and a special thank you to both Diane and Marc, two other volunteers who recently put these skills on hold until another time. Thank you to both of you as well.

The Library CEO, Kathy, has been incredible at keeping all the students, their families and volunteers informed and organized this year. Kathy you are the best, thank you!

Amazing donations through the Friends of the Library, Marmora's Public School as well as silent donations of monies, books and programs have added to the support needed to keep the Dare to Read program up and running. Thank you!

Unlocking the magic of reading through volunteering, sharing a passion and creating a dream in a supportive community is more than any non reader could ask for.

Thank you Marmora and all those who share and recognize in the gift of reading!
